Three young men share a typical Delhi terrace room. Jomo a film fanatic (Ravi Baswani) and Omi, a self-styled Poet (Rakesh Bedi) are lovable loafers, seemingly without a care in the world. Siddharth (Farooq Sheikh) Is the studious one, concentrating on his brilliant academic career. He has no time for frivolous things.

All three are heavy smokers and are constantly in debt to Lallan Mia, (Saeed Jaffery) the local paan walla, who in spite of his tough exterior, is a real softie at heart.

The boys lead a happy, blissful existence until a fair intruder, Neha (Deepti Naval) disrupts the peace in their lives.
Jomo and Omi try to woo her with disastrous results. It is the unsuspecting Siddharth who manages to win her heart without really trying.

A beautiful idyllic relationship develops, and Siddharth the serious scholar turns into a Romantic Romeo.

Their joy, however, is shortlived as Jomo and Omi, jealous to see their friend win the girl resort to mischief. They manage to poison Siddharth’s mind against Neha.

Siddharth and Neha realize that the path of love is strewn with thorns. They pine for each other, but things have gone beyond repair. Till, that is a repentant Omi and Jomo decides to re-unite the lover with the help of Neha’s charming Granny (Leela Mishra) and the benevolent Lallan Mia, the paan walla.

It is a miracle indeed, that the lovers are finally united, and everyone lives happily after.
